John Grif­fith has been announced as the win­ner of the Ani­boom Mar­vel Motion Comics Com­pe­ti­tion. This is his entry, named “The Stronger”, and it shows a great deal of ded­i­ca­tion, under­stand­ing of the char­ac­ters, cam­era move­ments, angles and the character’s personalities.

The ani­ma­tor has taken advan­tage on the fact that these heroes are so well known and takes them out of that world into a fed-up actor vs. his per­for­mance dilemma. It’s a lit­tle like blur­ring the line between the character’s real­ity and the actor pre­tend­ing to be the char­ac­ter. By the end you’re not sure what took place but the cynic humour of this grumpy mono­logue would have hooked you by then. This is a truly deserved prize for Griffith.
