I just stumbled on a nice little article in Quirky Guide, about the Suginami Animation Museum in Japan, which collects the best of their animation culture.

Suginami-ku in Tokyo is also known as anime town and is where a lot of animation companies are now located. The Suginami Animation Museum looks like a fantastic place to learn and understand anime. As well as the exhibitions about Japanese anime, they offer talks and workshops where you can witness the anime production process.
