Scene»Heard, the brand new student filmmaking competition, is now calling for entries. The free-to-enter competition, presented by PRS for Music, is challenging student and graduate filmmakers to create their own imaginative 90-second cinematic interpretation of a famous musical quote, song lyric or song title. There is a £1,000 cash prize.
Short films will be accepted across all genres from animation, features, documentary, sci-fi, horror, drama to experimental and hybrid, just as long as PRS for Music production music tracks or sound effects are used. Films can be submitted until 18th December 2009, with the winner announced in January 2010.

An international jury of filmmakers selects the winner out of the final 50 titles. The winner will be announced at the opening of the Holland Animation Film Festival 2009 at 4 November.
FOX (via Aniboom) is looking for the next great holiday TV special. Create a 2 to 4 minute animated short about a well-known holiday — Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, anything celebrated in the U.S.
Submissions will be accepted from May 27, 2009 through to August 31, 2009 at midnight.
