This is my new video for Harry Hill’s new comedy album called ‘Funny Times’.

Toronto animation house Guru Studio have just released a music video, produced for Canadian “supergroup” Crash Karma. Strongly based in the constructivist graphic design style, the video for “Fight” marks the studio’s first foray into music video production.

It’s a very interesting video, combining the graphic design style of the early 20th century with a contemporary textured flair (plus, you know, the fact that it’s a video). The video tells the animated story of the band members fighting “the forces of tyranny and oppression in the form of a rock-like ogre” set to their anthemic song “Fight.” Combining narrative elements of graphic novels and video games with highly original visuals, what it may lack in the form of an original story it makes up for in compelling visuals.

Let Me Fade is the new single from The Miserable Rich’s album Of Flight & Fury. The video portrays the dark tale of the break up of Mr and Mrs Squirrel.

Eyes with legs, zombie-like pandas, ghosts with long tongues, crabs, aliens, robots, a singing smartie. Anything you want, you name it! This video has it. Dry Fish is a very special creation by Andy Martin a freelance designer/director based in London. His recent work has included projects for clients like Channel 4, E4, Trouble, Sky One, DDB London, VW, Alfa Romeo, Tesco, and the BBC.

“Sometime you find yourself in a place that you just can’t explain and quite often it can be a little bit worrying. This animated short tells of one such occasion as our hero tries to express his feelings in the only way he can…via the medium of song.”

This is the new video for Maple Mountain Sunburst Triolian Orchestra featuring the voice of actress Isabella Rossellini.

It was created by Ben the Illustrator and myself Broken Antler. Ben the Illustrator provided the artwork and I did the motion graphics.

The video was made entirely using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects.

Electro Rock meets Pinocchio. That’s how Copernicus Studios, a Canadian artist-driven animation studio, describes the latest animated video created for the Jimmy Swift Band.

The story is epic, the characters are wonderful and charismatic, the animation is meticulous and full of life, the backgrounds are wonderful. Probably the only thing I didn’t like about the video is not having seen it in full screen the first time round, so save yourself some time and put on your headphones, crank the volume up and click the full screen button before hitting play.

Dutch animator Job Kind has launched a mesmerising music video called “Runaway” from Dutch singer/songwriter Bart van der Lee. The pencil-test look of it has a sort of nostalgic touch, not only from an animator’s point of view but also for the song itself, I think it works quite well.

Parts of the video have a vibe of a crossover between Bill Plympton and Peter Chung, a combination nobody could have done on purpose. Kind’s style really is one of a kind, well… not really but it’s something very special. Enjoy!

Animations inspired by the pixel art that existed on older 8-bit gaming systems are becoming very popular. Here is a great little short with that kind of style but a more mature type of content than you would expect from those old 8-bit games. Be warned, it’s does contain some adult content, even though it’s about as cartoony as adult content can get.

‘Hey’ tells of a little girl’s journey with her giant toad pet friend. One day her toad turns into a balloon drifting into the sky and is lost, in the search to find it again she travels through different surreal worlds. This music video was cerated for Eatliz, one of Israel’s leading alternative rock bands.

The video was created by a 15 strong animation crew, led by the multi-talented Guy Ben-Shetrit. Ben-Shetrit was the composer, writer, director and lead animator. This conditions gave them an unique advantage towards merging music and visuals. ‘Hey’ has its own website with a lot of the video’s art, reviews and behind the scene material.
