Latest demo reel from Christine Phelan, a character animator based in the San Francisco Bay area, featuring some of her work at Double Fine Productions on “Brütal Legend” (2009), as well as some sequences produced for LucasArts on “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” (2008).
Her characters are full of life, and I’m happy to see that unlike many games, her characters don’t seem to have an unbendable spine. Judging by her hobbies it looks like the Brütal Legend job was a perfect fit for her skills and personality. It wouldn’t surprise me if she turns out to also be a Jedi in her spare time.

I’m an animation student at the Academy of Art University. This is my latest demo reel:

Meindbender animation studio has been an active Swedish animation company since 2006. Meindbender is the result of combining the talent of Michael Bengtsson, Olov Burman, Calle Haldin and Tony Österlund.
Although they have a variety of styles, the one that caught my eye was a very tactile stop-motion-like animation with a real clay feeling to it, but having been created in Maya it has the versatility of CG. After their animation test Rabbit vs Football (pictured above), they got commissioned by Cartoon Network to create a series of stings for them. I am really wishing this becomes the company’s brand style and get it developed further.

Here’s a truly inspirational animation reel for you to enjoy.
Eric Walls is a CG, a traditional 2D animator, and illustrator and a writer. He’s worked for big boys like Disney, Rhythm & Hues, Warner Bros, Dreamworks and many others.
If you’re anything like me after watching this reel you’ll want to run back home and grab a pencil and loads of paper.

Hi, I worked on Un tour de Manège. I thought you’d like to watch the making of the film.

This is the fantastic work of Thomas Alan Bland, a London based character animator. His personal creations tend to make a lasting impression on any viewer, and they are full of life, at least to begin with.
Tom warns: “it is a bit gruesome in places, if you would like a toned down version please ask, as I have one available”

This is a monster of a reel, it’s got some (quite literally) kick ass 2D hand drawn sequences, mixed art work, 3d animation, stopmotion, character sketches, digital paintings and concept drawing. And it’s all beautifully created by Wang Xun from the School of Art & Media Nanyang Technological University.

This is the animation reel of Argentinan studio Gazz it contains a wide variety of styles and a brilliant character animation on the first half of the reel. I don’t meen the rest is not nice it’s just more motion graphics than character, but it is also brilliant. Have a look. There’s some great work on their website also.
