Hi! this is my first short. It’s traditional animation on backgrounds made of different types of fabrics. I hope you enjoy the misadventures of Huguito.

Aka ‘The king and the Beaver’ is a graduation student film made in 2010 at the mighty Gobelins animation school.

The animation in this lovely short is brilliant, superbly timed, great posing and a cute and original story line, which is probably one of the hardest things to get right in a short film. To make it more remarkable, most of this short was animated by hand and then scanned to TVP for colouring, but due to the lack of high speed scanner at their school they ended up animating directly into TVP in order to finish the film in time.

Cranium, a lonely-bored-alien, gets attacked whilst on his spaceship by a rouge-assassin-lady-robot, FemmeBot Fatale. He blows up her spaceship. She enters his spaceship, without permission. He reprograms her to take care of him.

One of the things I like most about Arjen’s work is the unpretentiousness of his work, simple basic rigs, relying on a charismatic illustrative style his focus is on the characterisation and the story itself. Minimal and original!

Manfred is an animated short by Arjen Klaverstijn, a freelance animator who recently graduated from the Utrecht School of Arts in The Netherlands with a Bachelor of Art & Technology.

In a surrealistic display, an enigmatic performer, The Creator, reveals the audience the conception of thought and image by manipulating time in the world of animation. My final project at VFS is a questioning of the media in which the film was created, as well as a tribute to animation, therefore it plays with timing and movement not only on a conceptual level, but also on a technical one.

The Vancouver Film School keeps harvesting unique animators with some beautiful skills, this one was created by Miguel Otálora a graphic designer from the Colombia’s Universidad Nacional and traditional animator from the Vancouver Film School.

An out of control bullet is the result of a bet in a small dive bar. The Bet is an absurd journey of blood and black humor that will end in the same place where it shouldn’t have started.

Original soundtrack by Solo Etra and sound design by Jacob Kinch.

Here’s a wonderful animation, cleverly written and animated by 21 year old Irish animator Bryan Joseph O’Sullivan. He studied animation at IADT Dun Laoghaire, Dublin.

The short is about two young detectives named Rian and Pogo who set out to investigate and explore the depths of their hometown Oakridge. Along the way they encounter odd creatures, a haunted house and even more odd creatures.

This is his graduation project which is doubling up as a pilot for a TV series. His aim is to create a cartoon for 7–12 year olds. Best of luck to him, this is very a professional looking piece and I do hope someone has the good sense to pick it up.
