I must say I found this stunning animation quite scary in a beautiful way. The concept is very clever and the animation exquisitely delivered. A curious young girl prances down a snowy street when something catches her eye that perhaps shouldn't have. Your brain bounces back between awe and tension. It's really quite clever. The fact that Alma is Spanish for 'soul' will make a lot of sense once you've seen it.

The attention to detail shows from the outset the love and dedication that has been put in its production. It is really a pleasure to watch, the only ting wrong with it is that you wish it was longer. I guarantee it will leave you gaging for more!

Alma is Rodrigo Blaas’ first short film as a director. Originally from Spain, Rodrigo Blaas has worked in animation for more than ten years, in Spain and in the United States.

Seizing the possibility of directing his first independent short film, Rodrigo Blaas asked some of the best artists in their field to take part in this independent project: French animator Bolhem Bouchiba, character designer Carlos Grangel and Sergio Pablos, ArtDirector Alfonso Blaas, music composer Mastretta and sound designer Tom Myers.
