Le Royaume

Aka ‘The king and the Beaver’ is a graduation student film made in 2010 at the mighty Gobelins animation school.

The animation in this lovely short is brilliant, superbly timed, great posing and a cute and original story line, which is probably one of the hardest things to get right in a short film. To make it more remarkable, most of this short was animated by hand and then scanned to TVP for colouring, but due to the lack of high speed scanner at their school they ended up animating directly into TVP in order to finish the film in time.

Written, directed and animated by Nuno Alves Rodrigues, Oussama Bouachéria, Julien Chheng, Sébastien Hary, Aymeric Kevin, Ulysse Malassagne & Franck Monier. Music by Mathieu Alvado.
